Help Foster Youth Beat the Odds. Give Today.

The odds are stacked against them. They succeed anyway. Together, we can help beat the odds and Turn obstacles into milestones

In a moment of widespread upheaval, when life feels increasingly unpredictable and social strain touches every community, these young people face even steeper obstacles:

  • many experience housing instability

  • all have experienced trauma

  • most have had to move forward without a consistent adult to count on

The system wasn’t built for them to win.

And yet, when a community shows up for them, they rise.

At Foster Progress, we see resilience every day. Students who’ve been counted out step up, persist, and graduate. They don’t need pity; they need your partnership. With mentorship, coaching, scholarships, and a community that shows up, they rise against all odds.

In a moment when it can feel hard to make a difference, here’s where you can. Your gift changes the trajectory of a young person’s life.

This year, between Giving Tuesday and December 31, we’re raising $20,000 to fuel student success in 2026 and beyond.

Your gift is more than charity—it’s an act of hope, power, and change.

Tip the odds in their favor. Donate today.

Dylan and Frank

  • When Dylan joined Foster Progress, he was feeling out of place in community college and dreaming of transferring to a university. Through our Mentoring & Scholarship Program, he was matched with his mentor, Frank.

Frank became a role model for Dylan, a friend, and a consistent supporter. Together they worked on college applications, job interviews, school work, and budgeting. With Frank’s support, Dylan was able to not only gain acceptance into multiple universities, but Dylan discovered pride in himself and his journey as a foster youth—something he never expected.

Grace's Graduation at U of Illinois

Grace

  • Grace knows firsthand what it means to overcome the odds. She missed 3 years of school before entering foster care at 14. Despite helping to care for the younger kids in a foster home of 8 children, and eventually being returned to the care of her biological parent, Grace caught up on her high-school education and made her way to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

When Y-CAP began at UIUC, Grace became a peer advocate. Y-CAP became an encouraging community for Grace, and she relished the opportunity to to provide, for other former foster youth, the support she didn’t have during her early years at school.

Your support makes stories like these possible. Through education, community building, matching youth with mentors and advocates, Foster Progress helps our students beat the odds every day.
